Coach Brockman is passionate about football because “I’ve played all my life and I’ve always loved football. I started playing when I was in second grade. I’ve played football for 12 years and coached for three years. If I didn’t do well in school, I couldn’t play football, so all our players should have the same mindset.”  When asked who inspired him to play, he said, “My dad introduced me to foot ball when I was really young. I really wanted to get into coaching and one of my high school coaches motivated me. In the locker room, you get to joke, hang out, and have fun with the players, not having to worry about school.” How much time do you put in? “We practice everyday but Wednesday and then games on Saturday, so that’s 14-15 hours a week.”

Who started Coach Batie thinking about coaching football? “I just like football, so working with young people, teaching them the sport makes sense.” Who is the team you most like to beat and why? “I’ve never beaten Eisenhower, so I want to beat them. I hate that we only have two weeks to get ready for our first game, but there’s not anything I can do about that.” When asked to describe his favorite play, Coach Batie responds, “Pass Play Slant Wheel because it mixes up the defense so we can score a touchdown.”
